Famous Las Vegas Hotels

Gangster Bugsy Siegel walked into Glitter Gulch in a sleepy little Nevada community and saw a few hotels. None of the hotels were famous, but what began as gleam in Bugsy's greedy mobster eyes would soon become one of the most famous hotels in the world. Several of the accommodations sprung up around those few early hotels have also come to enjoy fame or infamy for one reason or another as the Las Vegas Strip has become one of the most visited areas in the world.
  • Flamingo Hotel

Contrary to myth, the Flamingo was not the first hotel in Las Vegas. The Flamingo that you can check into today is not the actual Flamingo that was built as a result of Bugsy Siegel's dream, but the fame remains the same. Benjamin Siegel was gunned down before that original Flamingo was fully constructed, but its fame rests on it being the hotel that sparked every enormous casino-based hotel to follow. Today's Flamingo Hotel offers a large fitness center stocked with state-of-the-art equipment, a full service spa, the adults-only Go Pool, a wildlife habitat and a casino with 1,600 slot machines and 70 gaming tables.
